Titan T1 Home Gym User Review

by Frank Lesnar
(Miami, Florida)

The Titan T1 Home Gym is a comprehensive fully functional machine offering a range of exercises not found on many machines.

Pros: It offers a lot of exercises. The metal is heavy duty. Unlike most machines on the market.

Cons: Complicated to operate. Too time consuming transitioning between exercises. Although heavy duty in some areas (metal used) some parts such as pulleys, rollers and upholstery is cheap and of poor quality. Production of the home gym out of Poland means obtaining support and service for the Titan T1 is difficult.

I have owned a Titan now for 3 Years
by: Mark Wilkenson

It took me a about six months to pull the trigger on this purchase. I kept watching the videos over and over on the Fitcore website and also have seen some with the guys who make this in Poland. Apparently if you read what is posted on the Fitcore website there have been issues and they are not selling right now.

My own experience started with a lot of excitement about all the capabilities I saw of the videos online. When I received the machine there were parts that were very heavy and gave me a good feeling this was quality. For the most part it is a heavy duty machine. Having said that I have had problems with some things coming loose and the thing rattles like crazy during some exercises. The frame will never come apart but some of the smaller pieces are not that great quality. The pulleys for one look about as cheap as they come and contrary to what some people have said it does not use ball bearings in these pulleys.

The sliding bench is a cool concept and I do enjoy doing leg presses. The bad part is that the bench doesn't track very smoothly (reference no bearings) and tends to wobble a bit.

My biggest complaint is the same mentioned by an earlier reviewer, the machine is a royal PAIN to set up for each exercise. It has gotten so annoying that many times I avoid the exercised that require a lot of steps just because it takes me out of my rhythem and its just a hassle.

All in all the machine had good potential but seems to have missed the mark in a few areas. I have been reading on the John Stone Fitness website that something much better is in the works. Will be interested to see what it is. If that turns out better I might hawk my Titan on craigslist and buy the new machine. If thats a flop I might just go for the Hoist PTS3. It has an interesting design with the moving barbell. The only downside to it is not a lot of leg exercises. Decisions, decisions!

Review of Titan T1 Home Gym

The Titan T1 is quite unique for the home gym enthusiast. Everything about the machine is well thought out and designed. Despite seeing a prior comment about inferior materials used for pulleys and upholstery, I couldn't disagree more. The upholstery is extremely durable, good-looking, and every bit as tough as what you will find in a commercial gym. The machine operates as smoothly as commercial machines. Add dumbells and olympic weights, and you've got a complete gym for your home. I bought mine brand new on eBay from someone who had several and I was able to buy it for much less than what I've seen it advertised on-line. Shop around and you may find one for sale through Craigslist or e-Bay. It weighs about 1,300 pounds, so be sure you have a good location for it before setting it up. It's a shame this unit hasn't been marketed appropriatly here in the US, because if it were available in fitness showrooms, people would be able to see how this unit towers over all others in terms of quality.

Titan T1 Review

I have a Titan T1 and it's a remarkable home gym. However, there are flaws. Workouts take much longer than in a commercial gym because one has to set up each exercise (ie. remove handles, unload and load weights etc.). Once you get to know the machine you can pre plan your workout and set up the next exercise between sets but it's still slower than at a commercial gym. However, the exercises themselves are as good as those in a commercial gym. The machine could be improved and time saved if weight stacks with a selector pin were used instead of weight plates.

I currently have it set up in an apartment bedroom (15 x 12 ft; plenty of space) with concrete floors. I have moved it once from another room without any visible effects.

Since I've bought the Titan T1 it has become discontinued in the USA. I'm not sure whether a new supplier will step in and what the cost will be (the euro keeps moving up). Overall, it's a very well thought out piece of equipment with excellent exercise kinesiology and worthwhile for a home gym enthusiast. I have to plan more time for a workout than I would at a commercial gym, but the workout quality itself makes the extra workout time worthwhile.
