Marcy Home Gyms – A Muscle Beach Beginning

Marcy Exercise Equipment Reviews
You may not have heard about Marcy home gyms and strength equipment but the company has actually been around for over 50 years.
The Bodybuilding Founder
Walter “Muscle Beach” Marcyan was a Vaudeville strongman and competitive weightlifter who used to lift at original Muscle Beach near the Santa Monica Pier in California. In addition to his love of bodybuilding, he opened the House of Health in 1946 and began to design fitness equipment.
Famed bodybuilder Jack LaLanne said of Marcyan and his love of fitness: “There were only a few of us out there pushing this stuff in the early days, Walter was one of those. We all knew each other from the beach, and we all wanted to improve the lives of people.”
In 1959, Marcyan invented the All In One Gym, which was the first ever multi-station gym for the home. He went on to introduce a multi-user station machine, the Circuit Trainer, in 1965, as well as the sliding incline bench, the Dyna Gym, which is the predecessor to the popular Total Gym. He went on to introduce a dozen more patented designs including weight benches, selectorized multi-station gyms, pulley systems, cross-training fitness shoes, and much more.
