The Marcy Diamond 200 Pound Stack Home Gym (model 3400) is a very sturdy unit built on a 2"and 2.5" heavy-duty, steel tube frame. It has a steel weight stack shroud, vinyl plates with non-rust coating, nylon-reinforced pulleys with sealed bearings, steel cable rated at 2000-lb tension, and boxed upholstery with high-density foam. It needs a minimum of 81" height for ceiling clearance and slightly more if you plan to use a rubber mat under it.

There are only a few online reviews on the Marcy Diamond gym and most of them rate it as average to above average. Most users indicate that it meets their expectations for a $550 home gym. There have been some frame alignment problems reported by users, and the vinyl weight stacks do not move as freely as you would like, especially if you usually lift on quality equipment at a public facility. The unit takes approximately 4 to 6 hours to assemble and has a 2-year warranty.

Our Take
