The FreeMotion S75 Strength Training Machine – Your Own Personal (Electronic) Fitness Coach
The FreeMotion S75 Strength Training Machine offers a great range of motion and flexibility, and it gives you instructions and talks you through the workout! That’s right, it has a digital coach that acts like a personal trainer to suggest exercises, reps, and sets, and calls them out as you workout.
The Machine
The FreeMotion S75 has nine stations including a Bench Press, Standing Squat, and a Leg Extension/Curl. It also has a Rowing Station for a cardio workout, as well as the Target Zone Coach™ Electronic Trainer. If you don’t know the first thing about exercising and strength training, this machine will coach you through the sets.

The Buzz
The FreeMotion S75 Strength Trainer has a quiet, smooth lifting motion, and a nice ergonomic feel. Trainers especially will voice their approval of the “free motion” range and versatility of the exercises, which allow the user to hit the muscles at different angles for the best benefit. This is a solid and elegant machine … but otherwise, there’s nothing spectacular here.
The home gym reviews on the FreeMotion S75 Strength Trainer have shown the customers are satisfied with their purchase of this machine. Drawbacks? The digital Target Zone Coach probably isn’t for everyone -- it’s rather gimmicky and you could get tired of it in a fairly short amount of time. On the other hand, without a human personal trainer around, the onboard assistance just might be the motivation to keep you circuit training and help you get the results you want.
Our Take
The $1,399 ($1,899 MSRP) FreeMotion S75 Strength Training Machine is an affordable model, and while some new users may fall in love with it, we did not. While there’s nothing wrong with it, not even the lure of Free Shipping (a $150 savings) would impel us to choose the FreeMotion S75 design over a Bodycraft, Body Solid, or a number of other home gyms and functional strength training machines in this price range. It comes down to a personal preference. Six of the nine stations are standard, but a gym with a calf raise station (pffft, you don’t need a machine to do those exercises), and a butterfly, is not for us.
