The Buzz

The EXT Dual Cable Cross functional trainer features two independently rotating arms that can move in “free motion.” Unlike standard cable machines, this system’s swivel pulley design allows the cable to travel in nearly any movement pattern. Each arm rotates vertically in 12 settings and horizontally in 9 settings, and is counterbalanced for easy positioning. They can be rotated 90 degrees in the transverse plane (head to toe) and 180 degrees in the frontal and saggital (left and right of the spine) planes.

The dual 210-lb weight stacks are also independent of one another. That means two people can work out on the FreeMotion EXT Cable Cross simultaneously, or one person can use both stacks for cross cable exercises. The stacks adjust from 3 to 70 pounds in 3.3 lb increments, and the effective resistance per arm is 70 lbs. The 3-to1 cable ratio and extensive cable travel (up to 89 inches on each arm) allows for a full range of motion.

Our Take

Sleek, sophisticated, and innovative, this is a well-designed functional trainer that provides a full body workout. From strength training and body conditioning, to sports-specific movements and endurance training, the FreeMotion EXT Dual Cable Cross is an exceptional piece of equipment.
