The BodyCraft K2 Home Gym – A Light Commercial Multi-User Machine

The BodyCraft K2 Home Gym is the K1 model on steroids. These gyms, along with the Xpress Pro and Galena Pro, are part of BodyCraft’s Legacy Series. With this design, you get a dual selectorized stack system and traditional stations for strength training, as well as patent pending adjustable Cable Arms for functional training.

The Gym

Of the BodyCraft K2 Home Gym’s two weight stacks, the first is for the free range of motion Cable Arms Station, and the other is for the Press Station. The bench slides out of the way for squats, and the press arm can be moved out of the way for dumbbell exercises. You can add an optional Leg Press Attachment which will give you a 2:1 ratio for up to 400 pounds of resistance. The BodyCraft K2 includes:

BodyCraft K2 Home Gym
  • Two 200-lb Selectorized Weight Stacks
  • Cable Station with Adjustable Arms
  • Bench Press Station
  • Leg Extension/Curl Station
  • Low Pulley Station w/folding plate for low rows
  • High Pulley Station
  • Ab Crunch
  • Weight Stack Enclosures: Noise dampening guards
  • Dimensions – 105"L x 86"W x 84"H
  • Warranty: lifetime frame and parts
  • Accessories: Lat bar, Curl bar, Ankle strap, 2 Single Pull Handles for cable arms, exercise chart mounted on the frame

Options: Leg Press/Calf Raise Station ($600)

The Buzz

Trainers and equipment pros laud the engineering and design that goes in to a BodyCraft home gym, as well as the ergonomic, and bio-mechanically correct feel that each user experiences, no matter what their size. As for its construction, the BodyCraft K2 Home Gym is made of the finest quality components (hence the lifetime warranty offered), and these precision-crafted parts assemble together flawlessly. Still, with a large system such as the BodyCraft K2 it’s a good idea to purchase the optional In-Home Delivery & Assembly Service and have a qualified technician set-up your system.

Owners who have had a BodyCraft K2 model for years (it came out around 2002) swear that their gyms look and feel as almost as new as the day they first used them. That’s high praise about the quality, but they are also pleased with the design. Home gym reviews included positive comments on: the leg extension (very comfortable), the squat station (allowing the user to lift safely and to total exhaustion), the pulley stations (a fluid motion), and lastly, the bench press station (that has its own dedicated 200-lb stack and a fully adjustable FID bench).

Our Take

The BodyCraft K2 strength training system at $2,999 (with Free Shipping) is an excellent choice as the foundation for your workout room. You may even decide you don’t need anything else. This home gym is a commercial quality product that will last a lifetime and one that will pay for itself in less than two years, when compared to a gym membership for a family of two or more. The BodyCraft K2 Home Gym is a wise investment and rates as a Good Buy.
