The BodyCraft Galena Pro Home Gym – The Only Pec Dec Made for Fly Variations

The BodyCraft Galena Pro home gym gets a number of “Best Buy” kudos from several gym review sites as well as Consumer Guide. With its lifetime warranty and rock solid construction, this gym offers the quality and ergonomic feel you want in a gym. However, does it offer the core exercises you are looking for?

The Gym

The BodyCraft Galena Pro home gym offers a unique dual-function pectoral dec for traditional flys and dumbbell style flys (you can also do rear deltoid flys), in addition to a lat pull-down bar, an abdominal crunch station, a low-pulley station for leg kicks, hip adduction/abduction, deltoid raises, arm curls, and more.

The Buzz

Trainers point out that one of the most interesting features is its design; this BodyCraft home gym fits easily in a corner and can be accessed from two sides. The seats, which are made of high-density foam and covered by heavy commercial gauge vinyl, are fully adjustable to accommodate both small and large users. The BodyCraft Galena Pro comes with a precision-milled 200-lb weight stack and range-of-motion adjustments for 20+ exercises.

The engineering and quality of BodyCrafts are well regarded in home gym reviews. The Galena Pro gets high marks from owners in terms of quality and performance. It is versatile and has stations favored by women who love to train using the leg press, ab crunch, and the multi-exercise pec fly station.

Our Take

For a compact, two-station home gym that sells for $1,799 (with the leg press), the BodyCraft Galena Pro home gym is a flashy unit that does not compare favorably to its sister unit, the Xpress Pro. How often do you really need a two-seat unit unless you and your strength training partner are lifting at exactly the same time? (We thought so.) The Pec Dec design is patented by BodyCraft and is the only unique selling point to the Galena Pro. Apparently, its presence sends a thrill up the legs of some beginning users, but once you learn more about resistance training you may wish you had opted for adjustable cable arms and other Range of Motion options found on the BodyCraft Xpress home gym instead.
