The Body Solid G4I Iso-Flex Home Gym – Advanced Design, Easy to Use

The Body Solid G4I Iso-Flex Home Gym offers a no-cable-change design that uses a single selectorized stack. Its unique feature is the 3-Dimensional Independent Iso-Flex Press Arms, which simulate the feel of free weights.

The Gym

The concept of the Press Arms and their amazing functionality is the key to the Body Solid G4I Iso-Flex Home Gym. The 3D freedom of movement allows you to do chest press, incline press, pec flys, shoulder press, ab crunches, and more -- without changing set-ups. Since you aren’t restricted to a single plane of motion, the exercises you perform work to better to define and develop your targeted muscles as well as secondary (stabilizer) muscles.

The Body Solid G4I Iso-Flex includes:

Body Solid G4I Iso-Flex Home Gym
  • 160-lb Weight Stack
  • Iso-Flex™ 3D press arms
  • Swiveling Dual Lat Pull Down Station
  • Chest Supported Mid Row Station
  • Low Pulley
  • Leg Developer Station (Extension/Standing Curl)
  • Dimensions/Weight – 83"L x 55"W x 83.5"H / 400 lbs
  • Lifetime Warranty: Pads, Pulley, Cables, Everything. Forever
  • Accessories: 2 stirrup handles, lat bar, revolving straight bar, ankle strap, ab / triceps strap, Total Body Workout™ DVD, exercise chart, water bottle
    and towel holder

The Buzz

Body Solid has offered the best-engineered products in the fitness business for over 20 years. The name is synonymous with quality and performance. Experts and pro trainers note that Body Solid uses the same high quality components -- heavy gauge steel, 2200-lb aircraft grade cables with swiveling ends, 4½" pulleys, brass bushings and more -- in all their home gyms. By using only the finest materials, the company is able to offer the best warranty in the business: lifetime coverage on everything.

The only complaint home gym reviews have (reluctantly) mentioned with the Body Solid G4I Iso-Flex is the in-home assembly. Perhaps people don’t realize that any home gym is going to arrive in numerous pieces and will take hours to assemble. None of the reviewers would knock the machine itself (they love it!) but it is important to mention that home gyms are beasts to put together. Yet once the task is done, the system is a dream to own.

Our Take

This Body Solid G4I Iso-Flex system sells for around $1800 at BigFitness. It does an unbelievable number of exercises for a simple home gym design thanks to the 3D Press Arms and the Dual Pulley Lat Station. The pulleys allow you to do conventional lat work with the bar, or you can use any of the hundreds of dollars worth of accessories (included), working with stirrups, straps, or a revolving straight bar. If you are looking for an advanced yet easy-to-use design that can do a variety of exercises, the Body Solid G4I Iso-Flex Home Gym is a good choice.
